This is probably the most common question we get on a day to day basis. “R-value” refers to a materials resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value of a material or product, the better it insulates. For example; an attic insulated to an R-60 level will outperform the same attic only insulated to an R-40 level. Different products have different R-values that can be obtained through the manufacturer or speaking with one of our specialists.
There is no timeline that applies to all jobs across the board. Each and every project has its own set of requirements. The accessibility of the work area, the product being used, and the style of structure are just a few of the variables that can affect how long a job takes to properly complete. While there is no general timeline; one of our insulation specialists will be able to judge and give you a rough estimated timeline for your specific project.
This is another very common question we receive from customers, wondering what the Sq. ft price is for our services. As previously mentioned, no insulation job has a “cookie cutter” template. Each project has many variables such as accessibility issues, different preparation requirements, and different end goals for the project just to name a few. Sometimes a job of only 100sq./ft to properly complete will take longer than a job that is 1000sq./ft. For that reason we price all of our projects on a project by project basis. However, that doesn’t mean there is any uncertainty in your price. One of our specialists will assess your individual project and give you a price we stand behind 110%. Any changes or charges additional to your initial estimate will be discussed prior to commencing work so that you are not left with a bill that differs from your estimate.
This is a question that will be answered during your initial walk through and estimate. Most of the time there is very little needed on your part as a homeowner. If attic insulation is being installed and your attic hatch is in a closet, having the closet cleared out and accessible is usually the extent of our needs. A clean and accessible work area makes the job easier for our installers as well as easier for you as a homeowner after the job is complete. One of our specialists will walk you through any special requirements for your specific project but once you choose Five Star you are assured that the process will be nothing short of smooth and streamlined.
